The winds of hurricane Ike has passed the Gulf Coast. However, hurricane Ike has left hurting people in its wake.
Abundant Life Cathedral and other houses of worship was closed this past Sunday. We faced power loss in our churches as well as in the homes of thousands of people. Just a few moments ago, as we were walking the grounds to assess the damage, a woman walked up and asked if we were open for food distribution. She needed milk. This broke my heart. We had to tell her we were not open yet.
Well, we don’t intend to tell anyone else that. As a church, you know we depend on contributions to do our work. We have ongoing expenses that need to be met and families who are praying to just get by. HOWEVER, we will focus on helping OTHERS. God will take care of US.
